Our class had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday with this read-a-thon. We all got to come dressed in our comfy pajamas. Then students got to bring pillows, blankets, snacks, and their favorite books.

Whitley's favorite writing assignment this year has been this fictional narrative story. She went through a long process to finish this book. She filled out a story map, wrote a rough draft, went through author's circle, rewrote her story to add more details, had it typed, and then made illustrations.
Blake hasn't been in our class long, but it didn't take him long to fit in. His favorite writing assignment since he's been in our class has been this fictional narrative. He wrote a very intriguing story about a stranger that comes to his house, and what his family does to solve the problem.
Valentine's Day was a very exciting day in our class. We had four centers at the end of the day which included Valentine's Day BINGO, frosting sugar cookies, minute-to-win-it marshmallow toss, and minute-to-win-it conversation heart stacking. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered!
Parker's favorite art project this year, like many other students', is this leaf. The students covered the paper leaf in Karo Syrup, and then used watercolors to paint it.
I got spoiled this week during Teacher Appreciation. These are the drawings each student worked so hard to make for me.
This art project that Allyson created is the Life Cycle of a Butterfly. She used a different type of pasta for each stage of a butterfly's life.
