Our class had so much fun on our field trip to Harward Farms for Farm Field Days! We rotated to different stations where farmers taught us more about the different animals, plants, and responsibilities on a farm.

Brandon's favorite art project this year was this tree. First, the students used watercolors to pain the background. Once it was dry, they drew a tree with black marker. The last step was to glue little pieces of tissue paper onto the tree to look like flowers.
Irelyn really liked her Hundreds Day art piece. She made a portrait of what she will look like when she is one hundred years old by doing a torn paper collage.
Ty's favorite art project this year has been this leaf. This has definitely been a class favorite this year. He spread Kayro syrup all of the paper leaf. Then he splattered watercolor paints on it to give it color.
I was so proud of these students and how well they performed in our 2nd grade program! They dressed up like cowboys and cowgirls and did the Boot Scootin' Boogie! Fortunately, someone filmed half the dance! Here is your chance to watch it if you didn't get a chance to come to the performance!
Madisan liked her snowflake art project this year. This was a very simple project where students folded their paper into fourths. Then they used white crayon to draw snowflakes. Then they used watercolors to paint each quarter of the paper a different color.
Our class had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday with this read-a-thon. We all got to come dressed in our comfy pajamas. Then students got to bring pillows, blankets, snacks, and their favorite books.
Whitley's favorite writing assignment this year has been this fictional narrative story. She went through a long process to finish this book. She filled out a story map, wrote a rough draft, went through author's circle, rewrote her story to add more details, had it typed, and then made illustrations.
Blake hasn't been in our class long, but it didn't take him long to fit in. His favorite writing assignment since he's been in our class has been this fictional narrative. He wrote a very intriguing story about a stranger that comes to his house, and what his family does to solve the problem.
